What is the NCE/SEE SmartBank?

The NCE/SEE SmartBank is available exclusively for APEX Student Review course users within the TrueLearn platform, the parent company of APEX Anesthesia. The SmartBank provides over 1,000 board-style questions mapped to the NCE/SEE Content Outline to help you prepare to crush your exams! 

You’ll gain access to NCE/SEE item types* seen on exam day and be able to create custom quizzes and practice testing in a simulated environment to increase your readiness for exam day. And you can test on the go with the 5-star rated TrueLearn SmartBank app, available from the iOS and Android app stores.

Additionally, the NCE/SEE SmartBank will track your performance and surface content area weaknesses and strengths so you know where to focus your studies. Measure your exam readiness with robust analytics right on the performance dashboard.

The NCE/SEE SmartBank is not included in the APEX Student Review course. Students can go here to purchase a subscription. Must have an active SRC to purchase.

How do I access the NCE/SEE SmartBank for the first time?

After you have purchased the NCE/SEE SmartBank or access has begun for a subscription provided by your program (typically in the final year of school, but inquire with your program director to find out for sure!), you will receive a welcome email from noreply@truelearn.com, which will include instructions on how to access your account.

How do I navigate between the Student Review Course and NCE/SEE SmartBank?

Once you log into your APEX account, you will see “My SmartBank” in the left-hand navigation menu. 

If you log in directly to TrueLearn using your APEX credential, then you will automatically access the NCE/SEE SmartBank upon logging in. 

To navigate back to the Student Review Course, click the “APEX Courses” in the left-hand navigation menu.

Are the NCE/SEE SmartBank questions and the APEX Student Review Course content integrated?

Yes! These resources are integrated. Below are a few ways in which you can navigate between the two as you are utilizing each resource.

The Student Review Course curriculum is cited within the references section of the question explanations. Note the specific APEX Tutorial, then click the hyperlink to navigate to the Student Review Course. You can then locate that tutorial and continue learning.

You can also access the NCE/SEE SmartBank from within the APEX Student Review Course as well. From the APEX homepage, click the “Quick Create a Test Now” link in the NCE/SEE SmartBank section.

This will open the NCE/SEE SmartBank in your browser and take you to the “Create New Test” page in the TrueLearn platform.

Within each APEX unit, you will also see the NCE/SEE SmartBank section. 

Clicking the “Create Test on Unit #” links will open the NCE/SEE SmartBank up in your browser and take you to the “Question Search” page in the TrueLearn platform. Here, the APEX Student Review Course Unit that you were in will be preselected in the categories dropdown to show relevant questions. Click the “Create Test” button once you have checked the boxes next to the questions you want to include in the test.
