Student Review Course FAQs

Student Review Course FAQs

How do I use the tutorials?

Review the video below for everything you need to know.

What is the in-depth review inside the tutorials?

Each in-depth review includes everything we think you need to learn about that particular topic for the NCE.

What is a rapid review inside the tutorials?

Think of these as “Cliff’s Notes” of the in-depth review. We’ve done the work of summarizing each in-depth review to save you time. They’re great for last-minute review before an exam.

What’s the difference between the review, domain, and mock exams?

Review exams cover the same (or similar) content as their corresponding tutorials.

Domain exams cover their respective domains on the NCE content outline.

Mock exams are comprehensive exams that cover everything.

  • Study mode: You’ll receive a rationale after each question. The exam will allow you to resume and save your progress.
  • Simulation mode: You won’t receive any feedback until the end of your exam. It’s designed to recreate the “test day” experience, so you must take it in one sitting (i.e., you won’t be able to resume it later). Also, the exam will reset after you close the browser window.

Which questions in the tutorials are used to calculate my score?

The quiz at the end of the tutorial is the score that’s listed on your progress report.

The pre-lesson questions are only for practice and scores are not recorded.

Is there a search or index?

You can access the index from the course.

You can search inside each tutorial by clicking the search box in the upper left corner of the screen.

I failed the NCE. What should I do next?

  1. Email us at info@apexanesthesia.com with your total score and score breakdown. Your school should have your score 24-48 hours after you finish your exam.
  2. We’ll email you a questionnaire. After you complete it, we’ll schedule you for a group strategy session (held on Tuesday afternoons). We do not provide 1:1 tutoring.
  3. Please do NOT send any information specific to questions or details related to your exam! If you’re unsure about what is acceptable and what is prohibited exam behavior, the NBCRNA lists all the rules on their website. How do I use the progress report?

Below is quick video that will show you everything you need to know about the Progress Report.

Do you offer a discount on Boards Bootcamp?

We understand that many students live on a tight budget. We’ve done our very best to keep the cost a low as possible, so there aren’t any Boards Bootcamp discounts available.

I purchased APEX, but then my school also purchased it for me. Can I get store credit?

Yes! You’re eligible for store credit, but your request must be submitted during the window of time outlined below.

Here’s how it works:

  • Email us within 30 days of the date that your school purchased APEX.
  • We’ll send you a link to the school refund request form, and you must complete this form within 5 days of receiving it.
  • We‘re unable to process store credit requests outside of the dates outlined above, so don’t delay!

Should I use another review course in addition to APEX?

While this is a personal choice, using too many review courses often leads to information overload and confusion (not all courses teach the same things in the same ways). Most of our students only use APEX to prepare for boards, and the vast majority of those that used another course say it didn’t help them as much as they thought it would.

Do you guarantee that I’ll pass the NCE?

Although thousands of students trust APEX to help them pass boards, you may be thinking, “what if I don’t pass?”

If the unthinkable happens, here’s how we’ll help:

  • Send us your scores after your first attempt, and we’ll schedule a free strategy session to get you back on track.
  • If your course subscription expires, we’ll give you a free extension.
  • If you don’t pass the NCE after 4 attempts, you can keep free access to APEX until you pass or you can stop using APEX and receive a full refund.

A review course is only beneficial to those who actually use it. To be eligible for our guarantee, you must put in the effort and complete the course.
