Login
When opening the app for the first time, you will be brought to the login screen where you will enter the username and password associated with your TrueLearn account. If you have not set your account up or activated your new subscription, you will first need to login via a web browser by accessing the welcome email or by navigating to truelearn.com.
If you do not remember your password, you can use the ‘Forgot my Password’ option and follow the reset process.
Home
Once logged in, you will be brought to your Home page. Here you can see details on your current progress within your subscription(s).
You can change between subscriptions via the drop down at the top of the screen. If you have not yet activated a subscription, you will see it in the list, but will need to activate via a web browser before you can access it in the mobile app.
Performance
On the home screen, you will see a visualization of your overall performance compared to the national average. You can also see details on Percentile and the total questions you have taken compared to the number available in your subscription.
Tests
Select Create New Test from the home page to be brought to the Create Test page. If you have any in-progress assignments, you can also jump into these from the list on your home page.
Navigation Menu
Across the bottom of the screen are the navigation options. You can move between the Home page, Tests, Questions, Notes, and the More menu. More information about each is below.
Tests
My Tests
Selecting the Tests menu option from the Navigation menu will bring you to a list of all of your in-progress and completed tests. If you have an institutional subscription, you can also access any assigned quizzes from this tab. Please note, assessments are not available on the mobile app and must be completed via the web.
Create a Test
Selecting the Create Test button from the Home screen or the + button in the bottom left corner will open the Create Test page which allows you to select the content desired for your test.
On this page you can edit the Test Name, Number of Questions, Mode, Question State, and – if available for the subscription – the Question Type you’d like to include in the test.
Advanced
If you would like further control over the content of the test, you can select Advanced to be brought to the category selection page where you can select specific categories to test on.
Select Quick Create to start the test.
Take a Test
Once you have started a test or quiz, you will be in the Take Test mode. From here you can view the question stem and any accompanying media before answering the question.
At the top of the screen are several tools available for you.
Navigation
Select the drop down next to the number of questions to move between questions on the test. Questions can be filtered by unanswered or marked questions.
Calculator
If available for the subscription type, a calculator can be used during the test.
Add a Note
If you would like to make a note for yourself about the question you are on, you can do so via “Add a Note” tool. Notes are saved between mobile and web.
Mark
If a you would like to flag a question for further review – either during the test or after – you can mark the question. Marked questions are saved between mobile and web.
Strikethrough
To strikethrough an answer option on multiple-choice questions, you can double-tap on the answer. Double-tapping again will remove the strikethrough.
End and Review
Once you have completed the test and are ready to submit, you can select End & Review. You will be prompted if you have any incomplete questions before submitting.
Pause
You can select Pause if you need to take a short break from the test, or if you want to close the test to resume later.
Prev/Next
You can move between questions using the Previous and Next Buttons.
Show Explanation
If you would like to review questions as you answer them, you can take advantage of Tutor Mode when creating the test. This displays a ‘Show Explanation’ button for each question that opens the answer and explanation for a question once selected. Once the explanation is displayed, the answer choice can no longer be changed, even if it was originally left blank. You will be prompted with this information when you select Show Explanation.
Performance
Once the explanation is displayed, you can also see information on how other learners performed on the question, including the distribution of answer selections nationwide and the total % of learners that answered a question correctly. This performance data differs slightly depending on the question type.
Rating
Once an explanation is displayed, you can rate the question – thumbs up or thumbs down. This provides additional data to our content teams about what questions you find most helpful.
Review a Test
When opening the Test Review for a completed test or quiz, you are first presented with the Test Result Modal. This gives an overview of the performance on the assignment, such as Score (% correct), National Average, Time Per Question, etc. You can select to review all questions, or focus on just Correct, Incorrect, or Unanswered.
While reviewing the questions, you can see the explanation for each answer.
The ‘Show Explanation’ button opens the answer and explanation for a question once selected.
It includes information about the right and wrong answers, a bottom line (key takeaway), additional references, as well as information on what topic and category the question belongs to.
You can see if you have answered a question correctly from the review. You can also see information on how other students performed on the question, including the distribution of answer selections nationwide and the total % of you that answered a question correctly when you select Show Explanation.

Questions
The Questions page in the app allows you to search for specific questions based on keywords. Once you have entered a keyword, you can specify if you want to search the Question Stem, Topic, Bottom Line, References, Question ID, or All fields.
All results will show in the list after searching and you can select questions based on the topic to include in a new test by using the toggle next to each question. You can see all selected questions between multiple searches from the Selected tab.
Notes
The Notes page allows you to view any Notes that have been added to questions (either in-app or via the browser).
More
Selecting More from the Navigation menu at the bottom of the screen will bring up a menu of options.
Account
Selecting Account brings you to your profile information which can only be edited via the web. You can also see any subscriptions associated with your account.
Settings
The Settings menu is where you can reset all your questions back to New State as well as change between Light and Dark Mode for the app.
Send Feedback
Send Feedback is a way for you to share feedback with the TrueLearn team regarding your experiences with the mobile app.
Logout
To Logout from your account, you can select the option from the More menu.
