Will APEX report my Class A credits to the AANA?

If you are an active AANA member, we will report your credits to the AANA

  • We report credits for active AANA members Monday – Friday during normal business hours. It may take up to 72 hours for your Class A credits to appear in your AANA portal.
  • If you do not see your Class A credits in the AANA portal 72 hours after completion, please contact us, and we’ll do our best to help you.

If you’re NOT an active AANA member

Where do I find Pharmacology credits?

Post-test that award Class A pharmacology credits will list the number of pharmacology credits they include in the title of the post-test.

Example:

Can I repeat a course to earn Class A credits a second time?

  • The AANA will allow you to repeat a course you have previously taken, but it must be under a different AANA approval ID number.
  • Please click here to see if you are eligible to repeat a course.

Why don’t all of my post-tests for the CPC Core Modules show credits?

  • The NBCRNA requires 10 post-test questions per hour of Class A credit.  To make the post-tests more manageable, we have divided each Core Module post-test into several parts.
  • You will earn your certificate and Class A credits after you pass ALL parts of the post-tests for a Core Module with a score of 80% or greater, and the credits for the entire module will be awarded in the certificate that is attached to the last “Part” of the post-test.
  • The NBCRNA does not allow partial credit, so you will not receive any credit if you do not meet the passing standard on all parts of this Core Module post-test.

Why are my Class A credits not showing up in my AANA portal?

There are several reasons why you may not see your credits on your AANA transcript.

We have not yet reported them.

  • If you are an active AANA member, we report Class A credits Monday – Friday during normal business hours.
  • It may take up to 72 hours for your credits to appear in your AANA portal.
  • If your credits do not appear in your AANA portal within 72 hours, please email us with the credits you are missing so that we can look into this for you.

Your personal information in your APEX account does not match your personal information in your AANA portal.

  • This could be due to a marital name change or typographical error in your account.
  • Your information needs to match exactly.  This includes any hyphens, apostrophes, spaces, etc.  The AANA does not, however, recognize suffixes, such as Jr, Sr, II, III, etc.
  • Click here to update your account information.

We do not have your AANA number on file.

You are not a current AANA member.

  • We only report credits for active AANA members (the NBCRNA will not allow us to report your credits to them on your behalf).
  • Click here to print your CE transcript and submit it directly to the NBCRNA.

What APEX courses will satisfy my state’s opioid credit requirements?

  • The Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) has approved all our continuing education courses for Class A credit.
  • Additionally, the National Board of Certification and Recertification (NBCRNA) officially recognizes our CPC Core Modules. Class A credits approved by the AANA also satisfy the CE requirements for all 50 states. Our CE completion certificates comply with the requirements established by the AANA, which are also accepted by the Boards of Nursing in all 50 states.
  • Opioid credits are a specific state board of nursing credit requirement, and since we do not maintain provider #s at the state level, we suggest contacting the AANA or your State Board of Nursing to address specific questions regarding your state’s requirements to verify what credits qualify as opioid credits.
