What are the recommended requirements for web viewing and monitor standards on the Purview platform?

When using the Purview platform to view DICOM cases within Medality, it is important to ensure that your computer and monitor meet the recommended system requirements. This helps ensure the best performance and viewing experience when reviewing imaging studies.


Recommended Requirements for Web Viewing

When Purview is used as a web-based viewer, the following system specifications are recommended.

Operating System

  • Windows 10 or newer
  • macOS 10.12 or newer

Recommended Browser

Purview is a browser-based viewer and does not require additional software installation.

For the best performance and compatibility, we recommend using:

  • Google Chrome (latest version)

Other modern browsers may work, but Chrome is recommended for the most reliable experience.

Hardware

Recommended system specifications include:

  • Modern x64 processor (Intel i5 or equivalent)
  • 4 or more CPU cores at 1.5 GHz or higher
  • 8 GB RAM or more
  • Dedicated graphics card (NVIDIA or AMD) recommended
    • DirectX 12 compatible
      2 GB or more dedicated graphics memory

Network Requirements

  • 30 Mbps or higher internet connection speed recommended
  • Cellular connections such as 4G/LTE or 5G may also support viewing

Higher system specifications and faster internet speeds may improve performance when reviewing large CT or MRI studies.


Mobile Requirements

Mobile viewing may be possible on supported devices.

For the best experience reviewing imaging cases, a desktop or laptop computer is recommended.


Monitor Recommendations

Image quality can be affected by the monitor used when reviewing imaging studies.

Recommended display specifications include:

General radiology viewing:

  • 3 megapixel (3MP) display
  • 21.3 inch screen
  • 1536 × 2048 resolution

Higher resolution monitors may improve visualization when reviewing larger imaging studies.
